Where are all the dead animals?

Sri Lankan wildlife officials are stunned -- the worst tsunami in memory has killed around 22,000 people along the Indian Ocean island's coast, but they can't find any dead animals.

"Terroristen" terroriseren piloten met laserstralen

Authorities are investigating a mysterious laser beam that was directed into the cockpit of a commercial jet traveling at more than 8,500 feet.

Sahara Hotnights

While growing up in northern Sweden during the hey day of grunge, the four ladies of Sahara Hotnights needed something tangible to beat the boredom of being teenagers. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

Als vier achtjarige jongens uit het kleine dorpje South Park naar binnen weten te glippen bij een film van hun helden Terrance en Phillip, breekt de hel los. Ze nemen alle scheldwoorden over die ze in de film horen en de moeders geven de Canadezen Terrance en Phillip hier de schuld van. Het loopt uit op een oorlog tussen Amerika en Canada, waar Satan en z'n levenspartner Saddam zich ook mee gaan bemoeien.

Heb je hem gedownload? Kan je dan even melden of de titel klopt, want volgens mij moet het The Annual 2004 zijn. Maar dat weet ik dus niet zeker.

Soms heb je van die ingevingen die bij nader inzien toch niet zo'n goed idee blijken te zijn. Dat overkwam ook de Ier Jeremy Brown. In een dronken bui veranderde hij zijn naam in Crazy Horse Invincible.

Onlangs wilde hij een ticket boeken bij de luchtvaartmaatschappij Jet2.com, maar dat ging niet zonder slag of stoot. De luchtvaartmaatschappij vond zijn naam zo vreemd dat ze het niet vertrouwden. Hij moest zich eerst maar eens op het vliegveld komen melden om te bewijzen dat hij echt bestond.

Daarna kreeg hij alsnog zijn ticket en kon hij samen met zijn vriend, Spaceman Africa, naar Praag reizen. Jet2.com vindt Spaceman Africa blijkbaar wel een hele normale naam, want zijn ticket werd zonder problemen naar hem opgestuurd. (Bron)

The Pacific Northwest tree octopus (Octopus paxarbolis) can be found in the temperate rainforests of the Olympic Peninsula on the west coast of North America. Their habitat lies on the Eastern side of the Olympic mountain range, adjacent to Hood Canal. These solitary cephalopods reach an average size (measured from arm-tip to mantle-tip,) of 30-33 cm. Unlike most other cephalopods, tree octopuses are amphibious, spending only their early life and the period of their mating season in their ancestrial aquatic environment. Because of the moistness of the rainforests and specialized skin adaptations, they are able to keep from becoming desiccated for prolonged periods of time, but given the chance they would prefer resting in pooled water. Straaljager oorzaak harde knal in luchtruim

De politie Rotterdam-Rijnmond heeft woensdagmiddag tientallen verontruste telefoontjes gekregen na een harde knal in het luchtruim.

De knal deed zich rond 14.00 uur voor en was in een groot gedeelte van de Rijnmond-regio te horen. Volgens woordvoerder Van der Lei van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht werd de knal veroorzaakt door een straaljager, die door de geluidsbarriere ging op zoek naar een verdacht vliegtuig.

Nadat het vliegtuig geidentificeert was, kon het toestel zijn vlucht normaal vervolgen en keerde de straaljager terug naar zijn basis. (Bron)
